Johnstown seeks interest for a seat on the Greater Johnstown Park & Rec District Board

PUBLIC NOTICE

 Johnstown City Council is accepting letters of interest for a term on the Greater Johnstown Park & Recreation District (GJPRD) Board of Trustees. 

The term will expire on August 15, 2026
Applicant must be a resident of the City of Johnstown.

GJPRD MISSION

The mission is to provide responsible development, management, coordination and equitable access to recreational facilities, programs and activities for residents of the Johnstown Monroe Local School District to strengthen community health, wellness and spirit.

 AUTHORITY

Section 1: The Board of Trustees of the District shall have all of the rights, authority and responsibilities granted under the applicable sections of Chapter 755 of the Ohio Revised Code, as such powers and authority may change from time to time.

Section 2: In accordance with Section 1 of this Article, the District shall have the authority granted to it pursuant to R.C. 755.14, including but not limited to providing community programming in recreational, educational, social, cultural and athletic areas; acquire property for constructing, operating and maintaining parks, playgrounds, play fields; and to preserve and protect real property with valuable natural features as parks and spaces for recreational activities for the benefit of all citizens.
